Promoting Women in AI: TAD and Meduyakot Joint Event
A collaborative event highlighting AI research, mentorship, and opportunities for female students in the exact sciences and engineering fields.
In June 2024, the Center for AI and Data Science (TAD) held a special event in collaboration with the Meduyakot program at Tel Aviv University.
This event was part of an ongoing partnership between TAD and Meduyakot, a mentorship program promoting women in the exact sciences and engineering. TAD supports several scholarships for female students studying AI within these faculties who are participating in the program.
During the event, Prof. Meir Feder, Head of TAD, and Dr. Shiri Stempler, Executive Director of TAD, introduced the students to the center, its activities, and opportunities.
Following the introduction, three leading female researchers in AI and Data Science, all members of TAD, presented their research: Dr. Mor Geva (Computer Science) discussed ChatGPT, Prof. Adi Stern (Life Sciences) talked about predicting future epidemics using language models, and Dr. Neta Rabin (Industrial Engineering) presented research on data analysis with machine learning.
The event also featured a mingling session, allowing students and faculty to discuss AI research at the university and academic life in general.
We thank all the participants and wish the students and TAD members a relaxing summer vacation.
