Yael Benyamini is a health psychologist who studies how people think about their health.
Her research focuses on subjective perceptions of health and illness as one gets older and their effects on coping with health threats and ultimately, on psychological and physical outcomes during the aging process.
Much of this line of research is conducted in multidisciplinary teams, including epidemiologists, medical professionals, sociologists, health economists, and biostatisticians, in studies using large samples and databases, aimed at elucidating the predictors and the paths leading to better health and longevity in midlife and old age.
