Prof. Tal Pupko

Shmunis School of Biomedicine and Cancer Research

Tal Pupko is a professor of bioinformatics and molecular evolution in the Shmunis School of Biomedicine and Cancer Research at Tel Aviv University (TAU).

 

He received his PhD in TAU 2001 and in 2003, he returned to Israel as a faculty member. His research is focused on various fields of molecular evolution and bioinformatics and combines methods from machine-learning, statistical inference, phylogenomics and microbial pathogenesis.

 

He is an associated editor in the journal Molecular Biology and Evolution. He won a few awards, e.g., the Hestrin Prize, the PNAS Cozzarelli Prize, and the Nature Research Award for Mentoring in Science.
