Ron Shamir (PhD, UC Berkeley 1984) is a professor emeritus of Computer Science and Bioinformatics.
His group develops algorithms and software for understanding the genome and human disease using genomic as well as clinical data from electronic medical records.
He is a Fellow of the ISCB and the ACM, a recipient of the Landau and Kadar prizes, and of the 2022 Senior Scientist Award of the ISCB.
