

Prof. Nurit Shnabel
Psychological Sciences
Nurit Shnabel is a full professor of social psychology at the School of Psychological Sciences in Tel Aviv University.
She received her PhD in social psychology from Tel Aviv University in 2008, and joined the school as a faculty member after completing her post-doctoral studies as a Fulbright exchange scholar at Yale University.
Besides serving as a faculty, she is currently the president of the European Association of Social Psychology (EASP).
Broadly speaking, her research uses quantitative methods (usually experiments) with the purpose of in understanding the social psychological processes involved in improving social relations, whether it is between individuals or between groups.
She is particularly interested in the processes that facilitate or hinder reconciliation.
In addition, she studies how subtle social psychological mechanisms reinforce the traditional gender roles.
