For the past 15 years or so, my group has been focusing on what we can do with large amounts of astronomical data, and/or highly dimensional data, that we could not (or did not think to) do before.

More recently we have been using and developing machine learning techniques for anomaly detection, in order to discover new phenomena in large datasets, from millions of galaxy spectra to gravitational wave data.
