Benny Applebaum is professor of Electrical Engineering at Tel Aviv University’s Faculty of engineering, where he is also the head of the committee for undergraduate studies.
His research on cryptography has received several international awards including best paper awards (FOCS ‘04. Crypto ‘07, SICOMP ‘07), honorable mention for the ACM dissertation award, Rothschild and Alon fellowships, and grants from the European Research Council (ERC), the Israel Science Foundation, and the German-Israeli Foundation.
He serves on the editorial board of SIAM Journal on Computing and chairs the steering committee of the Conference on Information-Theoretic Cryptography (ITC).
