Avishai is an assistant professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering at Tel-Aviv University and the head of the Robotics lab.

Avishai received his B.Sc. in 2008, M.Sc. in 2012 and Ph.D. in 2016 from the department of Mechanical Engineering of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. In 2016-2018, he was a post-doctoral research fellow at the Coordinated Science Lab, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 2018-2019, he was a post-doctoral research associate at the Department of Computer Science, Rutgers University.

The Robotics lab combines the mechanics of robots, the models that describe them, and the algorithms to control them. Hence, advanced algorithms of AI and motion planning are explored.
